Wanted- One Penpal
Did you have a penpal at school? I did, I had a few. Shelia in South Africa, a few in other parts of the world.
I was thinking, how great it was- to meet and get to know someone from their own written words.
I think I'd like one...so if you happen to some how stumble across my blog and want a old fashioned pen pal shoot me an email and we can swap details.
It will also give me a good reason to start using all the lovely papers I have collected lately.

The best thing....
There are lots of wonderful things about a Canberra winter, the chance to get out all my favourite stockings, wearing boots, white frosty sparking mornings, I could go on for ages.
I think one of the best things is the last minutes of winter light in the evenings, it seems more golden than the other times of the year.

On the subject of tattoos...sailors
I have seen this image floating around blog land for a few months now, and keep coming back to it.
There is something quite special about both the image itself and the subjects.
The intimate experience of being tattooed is demonstrated in beautiful form, and the tight composition just sets it off.
I'd love to find out more about the photographer and the subjects...it sends my mind back to an idea for a book I had back when I was a civilian working for the Defence Department. If only I had the time.
The closest to its original source and be found at The National Archives.

So much skin so little time......
I have been toying with the idea of a light house tattoo for some time now.
I'm a fan of these 2, Silje from RVA has this cracker of a tat on her arm (pic credit goes to her).
Not sure where I found the top pic, its just a bit dark for me but on the body part I want mine.
I'd love to have the light house a bit off centre, and a tall ship in the back ground somehow......guess I'll be toying with the idea for a while longer.

I want one.
It turns out along with all the other French things I love that I love French Bulldogs- they are even cuter when they grow up. As soon I as can I will get one I think.
I'm sure Winston would get along with one fine, they are supposed to be smart and quite trainable.
This pic is from Rojas Bulldogs- take a look if you want to be tortured by cute puppies.

Mount Tamborine Gallery Walk Fun
Last month I went for a long over due visit to meet my besties new baby up on the Goldcoast- she was kind enough to take me for a lovely drive to Mt Tamborine. Besides the amazing scenery there is a great walk you can do to visit all the local artists galleries.
My favourite place we visited was the Cuckoo Clock Nest. It was a shop not a gallery, but it felt like one with so many hundreds of clocks to look at. I wanted them all- but the bottom pic is of one of my favourites. Definitely worth a visit if your in that part of the world.
And to Tae and the gorgeous Kai, I miss you both everyday and send you all my love and kisses.
